Your Space Is Your State Your home is a mirror. Every object lying out of place, every pile of “I’ll get to it later,” is not just clutter—it’s deferred decisions. And deferred decisions compound. They don’t sit still. They eat your time, your clarity, your energy. You can’t expect to run a disciplined life inside a disordered room. Order starts in the smallest unit—the shelf, the drawer, the desk. Once you demand coherence there, you build the muscle that can later bring coherence to your work, your relationships, your money. The method is simple: hold each thing and ask, does this carry life forward? If yes, give it a home. If no, let it go. It sounds trivial until you see how ruthless honesty in your physical space bleeds into everything else. You learn to part with the unnecessary. You stop hoarding obligations, outdated beliefs, stale ambitions. A clear space doesn’t guarantee a clear mind. But without it, clarity is impossible. The mess around you is the mess within you. Straighten one, and you’ll feel the other shift.
