THE THREAT TO OUR CORAL ECOSYSTEMS Did you know that almost 30% of the beautiful coral reefs around the world have already been destroyed? It's a big problem caused mainly by things like climate change and pollution. Coral reefs are like colorful underwater cities full of life—they're home to lots of fish, sea creatures, and plants. But these reefs are in danger. Climate change makes the water too warm, which stresses the corals, making them turn white and sometimes die, a process known as coral bleaching. Pollution from things like plastic waste and chemicals also harms these fragile ecosystems. With almost a third of the world's coral reefs already gone, it's a wake-up call for us to take action. We need to work together to protect these amazing underwater worlds. By reducing pollution, fighting climate change, and taking better care of our oceans, we can help save the remaining coral reefs and the incredible life they support.
